Reply To Prosecutor's Pantun, SYL's Camp: Umar Bin Khatab, Who Was Feared By The Devil, Sobbed
JAKARTA - The Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL camp replied to a rhyme from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) which stated that the former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) who claimed to be a hero cried alongan when he heard the demands.
According to SYL's legal adviser, Djamaluddin Koedoeboen, the tears of his client are a form of dialogue with the creator.
"We need to say that the tears that come out of sadness are a dialogue of a servant who has arrived at awareness about his childhood and how only to God alone, all that greatness and strength," said Djamaluddin reading the duplicate at the trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday, July 9.
That way, there is no reason to stop shedding tears if it is the best opportunity to touch the soul and conscience.
In fact, big figures like Umar Bin Khatab who were greatly feared by many people in their time, even the devil, did not hesitate to cry.
"A big score like Umar Bin Khatab, whose devil was afraid of him, did not hesitate to cry with tears," he said.
SYL's tears were also referred to as honesty that had been conveyed regarding all cases of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities.
"The defendant's honest song was conveyed by the defendant without any funds because he really felt wronged and did not feel that he had committed an act as indicted by the public prosecutor," said Djamaluddin.
The prosecutor at the trial previously threw a rhyme to reply to the memorandum of defense or plea of the defendant Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL. It contained insinuating the former Minister of Agriculture who claimed to be ajutant but instead cried at trial.
The satire began when Attorney Meyer Simanjuntak said that the defense of SYL and his attorney was only to run away from legal responsibility.

The prosecutor also understood that the defense was organized by a large amount of evidence that strengthened the indictment against SYL during the trial.
Meanwhile, for SYL, it is said to be just a claim because it is not supported by evidence.
Then, Meyer threw a rhyme that satirized SYL. The former Minister of Agriculture, who claimed to be a fighter, cried when he read out his personal defense.
"Kupang City, the city of Balikpapan. It's really beautiful and charming. It says fighters and heroes. Listen to the demands of crying all week," Meyer said.
In the case of extortion and gratification, Syahrul Yasin Limpo was sentenced to 12 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison. He was also asked to pay compensation of around Rp. 44 billion and US$ 30 thousand.
The claim was given because the prosecutor believed that SYL violated Article 12 letter e in conjunction with Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code (KUHP) in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
