Attorney Says There Is No Possibility Of Mediation At The Ruben Onsu And Sarwendah Divorce Sessions

JAKARTA - The couple Ruben Onsu and Sarwendah were both not present at their inaugural trial which was supposed to be held today, Tuesday, July 9 at the South Jakarta District Court.

Ruben Onsu himself was only represented by his attorney, Raga Ginting. He said he did not know the reason for Ruben or Sarwendah choosing to be absent.

"For the reason, we don't know why the plaintiff and defendant were not present, we are only focused on the court," said Raga Ginting at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, July 9.

Due to the absence of the plaintiff (Ruben Onsu) and the defendant (Sarwendah) the panel of judges finally decided to postpone the trial until July 16. At the trial, a second summons will be made for Ruben and Sarwendah to attend.

"Next week is the second summons of the plaintiff and defendant, dated 16 (July)," said Raga Ginting.

Then, when asked about the mediation process for the married couple in 2013, Raga said that it might not be done.

"Mediation doesn't seem to exist. So the second direct call is related to the follow-up trial," explained Raga.

Until now, Ruben Onsu's party was still reluctant to explain the reason Jordi Onsu's brother chose to divorce his wife. "I can't answer that," he said.
