Winning The Jakarta Legislative Election, PKS President Considered Kaesang Suitable To Be A Cagub Instead Of Anies
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep, assesses that the President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), Ahmad Syaikhu is more suitable to run as a candidate for governor (cagub) in Jakarta. This is because his party, which was chaired, won the Legislative Election (Pileg) in Jakarta with 18 seats in the DPRD.
This was conveyed by Kaesang in response to the question of whether the Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman pair was attractive as a governor and cawagub in Jakarta.
"But yes, in my personal opinion, Mr. PKS as the winner of the election in Jakarta has 18 seats, I think actually Mr. PKS President is governor," said Kaesang at the PKS DPP office, South Jakarta, Monday, July 8.
Kaesang emphasized that the statement was his personal opinion regarding PKS as the winning party should carry its own cadres to become governor candidates rather than other figures.
"No, as a winner in Jakarta, I think it would be much better if this (PKS) brought the governor. (PKS cadres become governors, ed) yes, more or less like that," he said.
Responding to Kaesang, Ahmad Syaikhu received the input.
"That's input, God willing, we will receive this input," said Syaikhu.

As is known, PKS carried the Anies Baswedan pair with Sohibul Iman in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election (Pilgub).
Syaikhu explained that the decision was taken after considering input from PKS cadres in DKI Jakarta.
"At the meeting on Thursday, June 20, 2024, we have decided, carrying Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan as a candidate for governor and Mr. Muhammad Sohibul Iman as a candidate for deputy governor, ready to fight for victory," said Syaikhu in the Sudirman area, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 25.
According to Syaikhu, both of them had a good track record during their career in the world of politics. He instructed all PKS cadres to fight to win the couple.
"Ready to win the Anies-Iman pair? Ready to win a safe partner? Secure, win, secure Jakarta Safe, Jakarta win," he said.
