Denying The News Of Riding 3 Cars, KPU Members Use 2 Official Cars Alphard And The Coalition
JAKARTA - Acting (Plt.) KPU Chairman Mochammad Afifuddin said members of this election organizing institution were only facilitated by two cars for official operational vehicles.
Afifuddin said this when responding to the statement of the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Polhukam) Mahfud MD which highlighted that there were three official cars for each KPU member.
"What is certain is that there are two official cars (there are), the other is an old car that is not all used. Later, friends at the secretary general can explain," said the man who is familiarly called Afif as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 8.
Another car, he said, is an old red-plated vehicle. The vehicle was also used by other KPU ranks.
"Two of them stick to us. The other one is an old car with a red plate that can be used by other ranks," he explained.
Afif emphasized that any facilities provided by the state can be used properly without violating the rules.
"The point that I want to emphasize, I even once asked, what is important is that no one gives us facilities so that someone violates the rules," Afif said.
Meanwhile, KPU Secretary General Bernad Dermawan Sutrisno explained that the KPU only rented two operational cars for members of the KPU branded Toyota Alphard and Hyundai Palisade.
"The rental car for the commission's operations is two cars, namely the Alphard and Palisade types," said Bernad.

Previously, Mahfud MD highlighted the quality of the KPU after the dismissal of Hasyim Asy'ari as chairman by the DKPP related to immoral cases.
Through his personal X account, Mahfud assessed that the current KPU ranks do not deserve to be the organizers of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections.
"In general, the KPU is now not worthy of being the organizer of the regional elections which are very important for Indonesia's future," Mahfud wrote as quoted by ANTARA, Monday.
According to Mahfud, there were various negative rumors involving other KPU members after the Hasyim scandal was revealed, one of which was the suspicion that every member of the KPU got three luxury official cars.
There are also reports of excessive actions, namely leasing jets for official purposes.
"Information from the chat of the Podcast source Abraham Samad SPEAKs UP, each member of the KPU is now using three luxury official cars," he wrote.
The next article, "There are also excessive jet rentals (for official reasons), as well as other facilities for immoral (sorry) areas. DPR and Government need to act, not silence."
This is what makes him think that the government and the DPR should take action against the commissioners and not allow that to happen.
According to Mahfud, the reshuffle or replacement of all KPU commissioners should be considered in line with the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
"The replacement of all KPU members needs to be considered without having to postpone the regional elections in November. Also without having to cancel the election results that have been decided or confirmed by the Constitutional Court," concluded Mahfud.
