Coldplay Ends Legal Dispute With Ex Manager

Coldplay has settled a legal dispute with former manager Dave Holmes, through a deal that is said to have reached millions of pounds. This ends the legal battle that has occurred in recent years.

Even so, the value of Coldplay and Holmes' agreement is unknown. The reason is, they are said to have agreed to keep the negotiations a secret. So far, neither side has issued an open statement.

Launching Billboard, the settlement of the lawsuit allows both parties to continue without being overshadowed by future legal disputes.

Meanwhile, this legal problem stems from Holmes who sued Coldplay in 2022. After being a manager for 16 years, he claimed that the band still owes him his management services.

In his lawsuit, Holmes demanded compensation of more than $12 million, on charges that he was not compensated for his contribution to the band's success.

Then, Coldplay representatives argued that Holmes had received adequate compensation for his services and the claim was baseless. In fact, the band retaliated against the claim of compensation from Holmes for 15 million dollars (Rp. 245.9 billion) for allowing the tour fees to get out of control.

For information, the dispute between Coldplay and Holmes has become an interesting topic in the music industry, and both sides are reportedly looking to resolve the issue out of court.

Holmes, who previously managed Coldplay, played an important role in guiding the band through his most successful years. However, tensions arise due to financial disputes, which ultimately lead to lawsuits.
