PT KAI Purwokerto Records 211,327 Passengers Departing During School Holidays

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area 5 Purwokerto noted that 211,327 passengers had departed during the school holiday period from June 22 to July 6, 2024. This figure is considered to continue to grow because the school holiday period will still last until July 14.

"The temporary total shows an increase of 11 percent compared to the same period last year, of which Daop 5 Purwokerto dispatched 190,261 customers," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto Feni Novida Saragih in a written statement, Saturday, July 6.

Feni said the peak of the highest departure volume at Daop 5 Purwokerto occurred on Saturday, June 23, 2024, with a total of 16,033 customers departing from stations in the Daop 5 Purwokerto area.

"Meanwhile, the peak of arrivals or passengers arrived on Saturday, June 29, 2024, as many as 15,307 passengers arrived," he said.

Meanwhile, the number of passengers who disembarked at various Daop 5 Purwokerto stations during the school holiday season was recorded as 203,675 passengers.

To add to the vibrant holiday period, Daop 5 Purwokerto has prepared a variety of interesting series of events, including music from local artists at the station, the Baturraden Express Anniversary which presents the art of lengger dance at the station, Flashmob at the station, greeting customers by distributing attractive souvenirs and various other unique activities.

"Various events held by the local government also took part in enlivening this school holiday period," he said.

In addition, to accommodate the enthusiasm of the people who will still enjoy the school holidays, KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto has also increased the seating capacity of various train series, including the Logawa train, Kamandaka train, Sawunggalih train, North Kutojaya train, South Kutojaya train, etc.

"Until now, there are still seats at various destination stations because occupancy occupancy is averaged at 70-80 percent," he added.
