Indian Police Arrest 6 People Related To The Tragedy Of Religious Events That Killed 121 People
JAKARTA - Indian police arrested six people in connection with the tragedy of a Hindu religious event in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh this week that killed 121 people.
Religious events in the village of the Hathras district, about 200 km southeast of the nation's capital, New Delhi, were hit by thousands of people in the midst of hot temperatures in the afternoon, Tuesday, July 2.
"The incident occurred due to a tremendous density as people tried to leave the place," Ashish Kumar, administrator of the Hathras district, Uttar Pradesh, said.
Chaitra V., another senior state official, told Indian television station Today people may lose their foothold while looking for water in hot weather.
