The High School Return Of A Gangster Drama Production Team Has Not Paid 119 Actors' Salaries!

JAKARTA - The Korean drama High School Return of a Gangster became a controversy when the production team revealed that it had not paid the salaries of the actors. This was revealed by the Korea Broadcasting Actors Union as an association of South Korean actors.

The production house Number Three Pictures has been revealed to have completed filming for two of their dramas, High School Return of a Gangster and Spirit Fingers since last year.

"However, after a year, they have not paid the salaries to 119 actors," said the representative of the Actors Union.

For our association, the total unpaid salary reaches 90 million won for the High School Return of a Gangster and around 220 million won for Spirit Fingers. If we combine with non-association actors and staff, the total unpaid salary may be even greater," they explained.

High School Return of a Gangster received a positive response and completed its broadcast since mid-June. Unfortunately, this news has become a controversy in the public.

After this news circulated, the production team visited the association on July 2 and agreed to settle the delayed payments by the end of August. They also made sure not to cover the pay as the actor's salary.

"Despite the delayed payments, we are aware of the challenges the production team faces when making dramas under difficult conditions. We ask them to measure things like this in order to avoid similar issues from happening in future productions," the association said.

"We plan to see if the issue of delaying payments is resolved according to the promise of Number Three Pictures and respond to future plans," concluded the association.

High School Return of a Gangster and Spirit Fingers are two dramas adapted from a hit webtoon. High School Return of a Gangster has aired telling the story of a gangster whose soul was possessed by a high school student and was about to commit suicide.
