Celebration Of RI's 79th Anniversary At IKN Makes Hotel Occupancy In Balikpapan Rise

Property consultant Colliers Indonesia estimates that hotel occupancy or room occupancy rate (TPK) in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, will increase with the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN.

"Of course, if all of them are deployed to come there, the hotel occupancy rate in Balikpapan will be high," said Head of Research Colliers Indonesia Ferry Salanto as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 3.

According to Ferry, this is because not only ASN and government officials will attend the IKN Independence Anniversary ceremony, but also attended by VIP guests and invitees from the embassy of friendly countries who will be invited there to see the development of IKN development.

"This will increase the occupancy rate of hotels in Balikpapan," he said.

For information, the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2024 at IKN is the starting point for the gradual transfer of the nation's capital from DKI Jakarta to Nusantara.

The celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN on August 17, 2024 is also a welcome ceremony to the new capital city.

The Capital Archipelago Authority (OIKN) revealed that IKN first operated on August 17, 2024, to coincide with the celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in the archipelago, East Kalimantan.

The 2022-2024 period is an initial transfer to IKN Nusantara, carrying out major infrastructure developments such as the Presidential Palace, the MPR/DPR Building, and housing, which also includes the initial transfer of ASN.
