Live Captions Features Will Be Available On FaceTime For Apple TV 4K
JAKARTA Apple added FaceTime support, a video calling app, on Apple TV 4K when launching tvOS 17 at the end of last year. To optimize its app, Apple will add new features. The tech company will include the Live Captions feature into tvOS 18 this fall. As the name implies, this feature will display a real-time transcript on the user television screen during FaceTime calls. Live Captions were created to help Apple TV users who experience hearing or deafness. Users who don't have hearing problems can also be helped if they make calls in noisy areas. Apple says that Live Captions can display text automatically according to what the opponent is saying. "Sharing special moments together becomes easier, bigger, and clearer (the blessing of this feature)." Reporting from 9to5mac, this feature is not compatible across the devices due to the required processing requirements. Live Captions for FaceTime can only be used on second-generation or later Apple TV.

Apart from Apple TV, Live Captions will also be added to Vision Pro. This accessibility feature will be available on Vision 2 in the same way as on Apple TV 4K, which is to display text in real-time during the call. It is not yet known what the Live Captions look like on Apple TV 4K. For Vision Pro's version, this feature will appear in a small box. This box will look like a virtual promoter with the microphone icon at the top of the box.
