KPK Claims To Handle 93 Corruption Cases With 100 Suspects Until May 2024

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) recorded 93 corruption cases as of May 2024. Of these, 100 people were named as suspects.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of the KPK Nawawi Pomolango in a working meeting of Commission III of the DPR with the KPK, Monday, July 1.

"The handling of corruption cases in 2024 as of May 31, there were 93 corruption cases handled by the KPK with 100 suspects," Nawawi said in a meeting broadcast on the YouTube account of the DPR RI.

In addition, the KPK conducted 26 investigations and 93 investigations into suspected corruption cases throughout 2024. Nawawi also said that there were 61 cases that had permanent legal force and 50 cases that were executed.

"We are preparing the Deputy for Enforcement to immediately provide clarification on the answers to these articles regarding prosecution," explained Nawawi.

Nawawi also explained the subject of coordination and supervision. According to him, there are still many corruption crimes committed by regional heads.

"The commitment of regional heads to eradicate corruption shown is still a lot of corruption in the regions," he concluded.
