The Challenges Of Jaz And Mawar De Jongh To Be A Duet Pair For The First Time

JAKARTA - Jaz and Mawar de Jongh for the first time released a single duet. They present a slick chemistry in a single entitled 'Not With Him' which was released today, Friday, June 28.

Before being put together in one project, these two singers had worked with other musicians. Mawar had a duet with Julian Jacob, Adikara, Dee Lestari, and Juicy Luicy. Meanwhile, Jaz himself has worked with Lalahuta and Kaka Azraff, a singer from Malaysia.

Joining two singers in one song is quite challenging. In addition to time, adjusting the tone in this song, it turns out that both of them are recognized by Jaz and Mawar have their own challenges.

In my opinion, what is quite difficult about this single is looking for the right tone to sing both of us because our voices have different ranges. Sometimes, it's right for me, it turns out that in Mawar it doesn't fit or vice versa. In addition, I'm not good at harmonization, so I have to make a lot of adjustments," said Jaz in a written broadcast received by VOI.

Mawar also feels the same way. Finding the right point for the vocal range in the duet song makes him try extra.

"Although vocals is a challenge for both of us, fortunately there is a Barsena vocal director who helps during the recording process so that we can overcome this challenge," explained Mawar.

The short time in cultivating this collaboration was really used by Jaz and Mawar to build chemistry.

We met for the first time during a workshop for the song Not With Him. At that relatively little time, we tried to maximize it to chat more so that our chemistry would wake up and be felt when singing it later," said Mawar.

Interestingly, although he often sings songs with the theme of love, this single genre feels refreshing for Jaz.

"You could say, this is very different from my catalog. Usually, I sing love songs with happy and happy vibes, while this song is confused," he said.

"But, indeed my team and I have planned to try songs like this on the third album. So, this may be a kind of warm-up and I can apply it in the future," said Jaz.

With the collaboration of two singers from two different labels, Mawar and Jaz both expressed their hope that this song could get a positive response from all those who listened.

"Hopefully we can work together again in the future because I myself feel that this project is very fun and hopefully this song can be accepted by all Indonesian people, be it Mawar fans or my music listeners," said Jaz.

Not to be missed, Mawar also hopes that this single is not only liked, but also gives something to the listeners. "Hopefully this song can entertain and accompany people who feel the same story as this song," he concluded.
