PKS Affirms Decision To Promote Anies-Sohibul Iman Is Final
JAKARTA - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu emphasized that the decision to carry Anies Baswedan and Mohamad Sohibul Iman in the 2024 Pilkada of DKI Jakarta Province was final."This is the final decision that we carry the pair Anies and Sohibul Iman," said Syaikhu after closing the party school event in Central Jakarta, Thursday, June 27.Syaikhu assessed that the PKS decision to carry the former Governor of DKI Jakarta as a candidate for governor and Deputy Chair of the PKS Syuro Council was correct. Anies-Sohibul is considered the ideal partner for Jakarta after leaving the status of the capital city."I think these two candidates are not candidates whose lives are local, they have also experienced education abroad and various global insights they have. God willing, this will be the main capital to lead Jakarta," explained Syaikhu.However, Syaikhu realized that PKS could not carry Anies-Sohibul without forming a coalition with other political parties. Given that to carry a candidate pair in the DKI Jakarta gubernatorial election, a minimum requirement for ownership of 22 seats for DKI Jakarta DPRD members is needed.Meanwhile, PKS, which won the 2024 Legislative Election, only has 18 seats. PKS requires a minimum of 4 additional seats. For this reason, PKS is still building communication with other political parties to invite Anies-Sohibul."Then we will communicate.
