2024 Copa America: Brazil's Star-Studded Squad Held To A Draw With Costa Rica
JAKARTA The Brazilian national team failed to get maximum points in their inaugural match in the 2024 Copa America group stage against Costa Rica.
The Brazil-owned star-studded squad was forced to play goalless in the first match of the Group D phase which took place at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California, United States, Tuesday, June 25 morning WIB.
The Samba team appeared so dominant in this match by gaining 74 percent possession, releasing 19 shots, and three of them hitting the target.
On the other hand, Costa Rica appeared solidly throughout the match in their defensive area. The performance that made them only recorded twice opened fire.
Sharing points makes Brazil fail to coup Colombia from the top of the group standings. In the previous match, Colombia secured three points against Paraguay thanks to a 2-1 win.

Brazil are now in second place with one point. They were followed by Costa Rica in second place and Paraguay in the bottom of the standings.
Furthermore, Brazil will face Paraguay on Saturday, June 29. Four days later the owner of 20 Copa America titles will meet Colombia.
