Alexander Marwata Calls The KPK Untrusted Because Of One Leader: Even Though There Are Others

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata said public support for his institution had occurred over the past five years. The reason is because there is one leader who has been denied his candidacy.

"Trust the KPK, I have seen the last five years since the fifth volume of the KPK leadership election has rejected a certain figure," Alexander said in a discussion entitled 'Looking for Corruption Eradication: Maintaining Independence, Rejecting Politicization' which was broadcast on PBHI YouTube, Friday, June 21.

Alexander did not specify who the person in question was. However, he said this condition was very unfortunate because there were other leaders.

"The public forgot that there were still other leaders. That the KPK did not belong to the leadership," he said.

Alexander hopes that the public will not consider the KPK leadership like an angel. This is because the participation of all employees in institutions in maintaining integrity is also needed.

This is because the KPK leadership cannot be that easy to intervene. "KPK leadership is not an angel," he said.

The figure who will be elected without the support of human resources who are also with integrity and independence will not be able to because the handling of the case is tiered, it is much easier for the intervention to the employee than the leadership. When there is intervention to one of the leaders, it cannot stop the case because there are still four others," concluded Alexander.
