Telkomsel, Tencent Cloud, And MCASH Will Explore Palm Scan Technology

JAKARTA - Telkomsel collaborated with Tencent Cloud and MCASH, in presenting the adoption of palm scanning technology as a new solution to improve customer service.

Signed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Jakarta on June 19, this collaboration will explore Palm Scanner biometric technology designed to identify individual customers based on the unique pattern on the palms.

This technology works by reading and mapping the veins, fingerprints, or skin patterns on the palms of the hands. With this technology, the customer verification process or Know Your Customer (KYC) will be faster, more efficient, safe, and comfortable.

"This collaborative effort is also in line with Telkomsel's vision to become the leading digital telecommunications service provider and create a highly competitive Indonesian society," said Telkomsel Sales Director Adiwinahyu Basuki Sigit, quoted on Friday, June 21.

VP Tencent Cloud International & Business Director of Tencent Cloud APAC, Jimmy Chen also admitted that he was enthusiastic about exploring this new technological innovation in order to increase user comfort and security.

"Through this collaboration, we hope to accelerate the adoption of digital solutions that are more efficient and secure and support Indonesia's efforts to build a strong and sustainable digital ecosystem," continued Jimmy.

Palm Scanner technology solutions offer a number of advantages, such as being more comfortable because the palm scanning process is not affected by factors such as height, facial resemblance to twins, and a lively atmosphere.

Then the scanning process carried out in the area of the hand also reduces the risk of error because it minimizes the possibility of misresponse due to being caught on camera.

Furthermore, this technology is agnostic, which means it can be used in various types of hardware, software, and platforms to facilitate its implementation.
