193 UN Agency Staff Killed, Gaza The Most Dangerous Place In The World For Aid Workers

JAKARTA - The UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees, UNRWA, said 193 of its staff had died since the war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, 2023.

"Gaza is the most dangerous place in the world for aid workers. Since the war began, 193 UNRWA colleagues have been killed", the highest death toll in UN history, the agency tweeted on Monday, June 17, quoted by CNN.

"Meskipun demikian, rekan-rekan kami tetap bekerja untuk mendukung keluarga dan memberikan bantuan di tengah krisis kemanusiaan yang mengerikan.

UNRWA says they are working in the most challenging circumstances and its facilities continue to be targeted.

Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas and other militant groups of placing themselves in the midst of civilian residents, and Israel has also denied targeting civilian infrastructure.
