Commission II Encourages The Establishment Of Law And Special Agency, Capai Target Reform Agrarian

Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the House of Representatives, Junimart Girsang, has encouraged the establishment of a special law to assist the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Defense Agency (ATR/BPN) in completing the Agrarian Reform target.

One of the problems faced is the certification process of 9 million hectares of land, of which 4.1 million comes from forest areas.

"Yes, if we look at the workload and the heavy task of what Agrarian Reform is, I say it must be a special law that regulates this in order to achieve a large work house for Agrarian Reform," Junimart told reporters in Bali, Friday, May 14.

Not only the Law, Junimart also encourages the establishment of a special agency. This is because in this case ATR/BPN will intersect with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).

With this special agency, the two ministries can merge to complete the target of certification of 9 million hectares of land.

"Most of the 9 million are the release of forest areas, so communication is very necessary," said Junimart.

President Joko Widodo in Nawacita has targeted 9 million hectares of land as targets of Agrarian Reform.

The government targets 9 million hectares of agrarian reform to target 4.1 million hectares from forest areas and 0.4 hectares from non-forest areas. While the remaining 4.5 million hectares are through the land certification program.
