Eid Holiday, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Predicts To Serve 507,076 Passengers

BADUNG - The long holiday moment for Eid al-Adha, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport estimates an increase in the number of passengers.

General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, said that his party projects services for 507,076 passengers and 2,921 aircraft movements during the Eid al-Adha period, from June 14 to June 20, 2024.

"As one of the main tourism destinations in Indonesia, the long holiday moment certainly has an impact on increasing passenger traffic on the island of Bali. Likewise with the moment of holidays and leave with Eid al-Adha, which we project is an increase in the number of passengers," said Handy, Friday, June 14.

According to him, during the Eid al-Adha period, the average daily number of passengers to be served will be higher than the normal period.

"Throughout 2024, the number of passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is 64 to 65 thousand passengers per day. During holidays or collective leave, there will be an increase of 15 to 17 percent or on average there will be an increase in the number of passengers per day to 70 to 74 thousand," he said.

"We predict that during that period, the highest number of passenger services will occur on Saturday, June 15 with a service figure of 76,287 passengers," he continued.

The same thing also happened to aircraft movements, which in the normal period were 371 movements per day and were predicted to increase to 434 movements during the Eid al-Adha holiday.

In addition, there were 84 extra flight applications with an estimated service to 11,408 passengers during the Eid al-Adha period to Jakarta, Balikpapan, Makassar, Surabaya, Kulon Progo, Semarang, Solo, Tambolaka, and Wakatobi served by Citilink Indonesia, Lion Air, Wings Air, Super Air Jet, and Indonesia Air Asia airlines.

"In this Eid al-Adha period, of course, we will ensure the smooth operation and anticipate traffic congestion around the airport by always coordinating with various stakeholders such as the Ngurah Rai Airport Police, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Force Base, Badung Transportation Service, and surrounding traditional Bendesa. We ensure that airport operations run safely and smoothly," he said.
