Optimistic RK Wins Jakarta Gubernatorial Election Against Anies, Gerindra: No Incent To Survive

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman is optimistic that Ridwan Kamil (RK) if his opponent Anies Baswedan will win in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election (Pilgub). Anies' signal is carried by PKB and PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) in the Jakarta gubernatorial election is known to be getting stronger. Habiburokhman assessed that the people of Jakarta need a new figure in leading their territory. According to him, almost no incumbent or incumbent was re-elected after his term ended.

"I think that Mr. RK can be very competitive with Mr. Anies. I really understand the people of Jakarta. I won this, I have a team that participated in winning the last two Jakarta regional elections. When we brought Jokowi-Ahok from the Gerindra party we won. When we brought Anies and Sandi we won again. I really understand the situation in Jakarta that wants a new figure, most of them," said Habiburokhman at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 12. "So in the Legislative Election alone, almost no incumbent survives. Alhamdulillah, Habiburokhman survives for the first time, there is an incumben from East Jakarta. Two previous periods there was no surviving incumbent," he continued. Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR said, the people of Jakarta are very critical. So that whoever cannot work, then will not get confidence back to serve. "So the people of Jakarta need a new figure," he said.

When Anies stepped forward to compete with Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok in the 2017 Jakarta gubernatorial election, Habiburokhman said that the residents of Jakarta were tired of the strong division in society. "When Anies stepped forward there was an antagonist division, it made people tired, right. When against Ahok it was time, they wanted to escape from the figure of all of them," he explained. In addition, in the 2024 presidential election, Anies was also unable to win from Presidential Candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto. Even though his voice was thin. "It's proven that Anies was rich yesterday, he said. He wanted to be thin, but lost. The title is still losing. It's a loss. That's it," said Habiburokhman. "So if the entry of Mr. Ridwan Kamil is counted as a new figure, it's just a matter of cooperating with his representative who supports, not reducing and not burdening. I think Mr. Ridwan Kamil's chances of winning are quite large," he concluded.
