Voodoo Officially Acquires Real Social Network With A Value Of IDR 8.75 Trillion
JAKARTA - Voodoo, the world's leading app and mobile game publisher, announced it had acquired BeReal, the social network Gen Z with an acquisition price of 500 million euros, or around IDR 8.75 trillion.
With this acquisition, Voodoo intends to invest further in BeReal while providing its expertise in product, growth and infrastructure strategies. Voodoo will also realize the potential of the platform.
"We are excited to bring our team together and take advantage of Voodoo's knowledge and different technologies to improve BeReal into iconic social networks for authenticity," said Alexandre Yazdi, co-founder and CEO of Voodoo in an official broadcast.
Aymeric Roffé, who currently serves as CEO of Wizz, one of Voodoo's social media apps, will take over as CEO of BeReal and lead the product.
Meanwhile, BeReal co-founder and CEO Alexis Barreyat will remain involved in BeReal in the short term and work closely with the management teams Roffé and Voodoo to ensure smooth integration, and eventually leave the company after the transition period.
