MG Opens Cyberster Pre-order For Australian Market, When Will It Be Sold In Indonesia?

JAKARTA - Morris Garages (MG) will officially present Cyberster, in the Australian market and the preorder for electric sports cars will begin to open ahead of his arrival in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Based on a report from Drive, quoted on Wednesday, June 12, the exact price of the MG's fastest car has not been announced but is estimated to start at 120 thousand Australian dollars or around Rp1.3 billion.

Obviously, this price is quite high considering that earlier this year MG released Cyberster in China's 100-year special edition of the company which was only 365,000 yuan or around Rp. 813 million, the exchange rate at that time.

MG national sales manager Brad Chruszcz said the electric car with wild power will come in limited quantities, and those in Australian market will be imported in full.

"This will be a supply and demand problem given the interest we have gained from the public and more than 90 of our dealers," he said.

For the Australian market, this one car is offered only the highest variant with a 77 kWh battery and all-wheel drive, which can generate 375 kW and 725 Nm power and 0-100 km/hour acceleration capability which is claimed to be only 3.2 seconds. Meanwhile, the battery cruise is 444 km in WLTP testing.

In design, the car, which debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023, has a length of 4,535 mm, a width of 1,913 mm, a height of 1,329 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,690 mm.

In design, this car is very interesting because it comes with a Lamborghini-style scissors door, two seats, and a soft-top roof that can be raised or lowered in 15 seconds at a speed of about 50 km/hour.

Specifications for Australia have not yet been determined including standard equipment. However, the Australian MG has confirmed that there will be exterior colors of cream, gray, and silver with black or red soft-top or roof colors, as well as red or yellow paint offered only with a black roof. Buyers will be treated with interior options of two black and red, as well as white and gray.

This one car itself was planned to enter the Indonesian market. As revealed by the Marketing & PR Director of MG Motor Indonesia Arief Syarifudin.

"We believe this vehicle will be very well received in Indonesia, in accordance with the dynamic and diverse market needs," he said, in November last year.

Unfortunately, until now there has been no further news about the launch of this one car. Will it be carried out at GIIAS 2024 later? Of course it should be awaited.
