Volvo Recalls Nearly 72,000 EX30 Units

Volvo is making another recall on the EX30 model which is one of the best-selling in global sales in May 2024 by ranking third with 11,035 units, behind XC60 with 20,507 units and XC40 with 13,640 units.

The recall at EX30 was caused by software problems with affected vehicles totaling nearly 72,000 units.

According to automotive News Europe, Wednesday, June 12, this compact SUV suffered system damage to its center screen which caused its speedometer to automatically go into test mode when the vehicle was turned on.

To solve this problem, the Swedish manufacturer will update its software through over-the-air (OTA). However, Volvo will also tell vehicle owners to take some steps in tackling this issue.

To date, the brand under Geely has not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the matter.

At the end of May, 1,255 units of the same model were also affected by the recall due to potential errors in the infotainment system.

This can certainly be thwarted when displaying important information that has the potential to increase the risk of injury or death in vehicle passengers and other road users.

Just like various manufacturers who make recalls, in this case consumers are free of charge, aka free of charge until they are completely safe to use.
