Bullet Resistant, Tesla Cybertruck Will Become A Police Patrol Car In The US
JAKARTA - What happens if the Tesla Cybertruck with a sturdy framework and a futuristic design becomes the choice of a police patrol fleet?
UP.FIT, a division of Tesla's modified workshop, Unplugged Performance, announced their plans to turn Cybertruck into a police patrol car in the United States (US). This Cybertruck patrol vehicle is expected to start patrolling later this year.
"Cybertruck UP.FIT is a next-generation patrol vehicle representing a significant technical leap into the future and we are excited to offer the police future to law enforcement agencies", said Unplugged Performance CEO Ben Schaffer, in a company release, June 11.
He also expressed his joy at the amount of direct input from the police department that has participated in the development of this Cybertruck and hopes to deploy this complete UP.FIT vehicle to law enforcement agencies by the end of this year.
Previously, reported by Car and Driver, June 12, UP.FIT has experience in modifying Tesla to the police in the United States, offering packages for Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. Well, specifically for Cybertruck patrols, UP.FIT will embed various special police equipment such as rotator lights, sirens, radio, and an upgraded computer system. Not to forget, there are additional options in the form of push bars on the front and 18-inch rims specifically for the use of patrols.
UP.FIT modifications don't stop there. They also offer options for tactical, military, and search and rescue operations. Some of the features that can be added include prisoner partitions, weapons storage, K-9 dog cages, improved brake and tire performance, as well as modifications for extreme off-road use. Interestingly, Starlink internet access from Elon Musk's company, SpaceX, is also available as additional options.

In addition, UP. FIT praised Cybertruck driver assistance and technology as the main reason they chose this vehicle for police patrols.
The matter of the price has not been disclosed but clearly exceeds the price of the highest variant of the Cybertruck which reached 101,985 US dollars or equivalent to Rp1.6 billion.
