Adobe Denies Using Customer Content To Train AI
JAKARTA Adobe wants to straighten out misunderstandings regarding Term of Use or Provisions of Use in their services. The company insists that it does not take advantage of the content of its customers. The company also claims that it has never used user work to train the generating Artificial Intelligence (AI) feature on its platform. Whatever the form of its work, Adobe will not take ownership of its customers. After obtaining a negative reaction regarding its service update, Adobe realized that they are using inappropriate language. Therefore, they will improve the Provisions of Use to straighten out misunderstandings. "For the next few days, we will talk with our customers about plans to launch the latest changes no later than 18 June 2024," Adobe said in an official statement. Before releasing the Provisions for Use of the latest version, Adobe provided little clarification regarding the allegations given to its company. Adobe said that the licenses given by the company would not replace user ownership rights. The company explained that they did use user data, but to improve user experience and develop features. In other words, this data is used for user needs.

"We can use usage data and content characteristics to improve product experience and develop features such as hidden and background removal, including through engineering including machine learning (not AI-generative)," Adobe explained. Finally, Adobe emphasizes that they never scan content stored locally inside a computer. The company-made software only scans uploaded content into Adobe services. "For the content you upload to our servers, like all content hosting platforms, Adobe automatically scans the content you upload to our services to ensure we don't host child sexual harassment (CSAM) material," said Adobe.
