Jokowi Soal Isu Larang Putranya Maju Pilkada Jakarta: Tanya Kaesang

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo asked reporters to ask Kaesang Pangarep about the issue of him prohibiting his son from running in the Jakarta Pilkada.

"Ask those who have the name Kaesang Pangarep," said Jokowi briefly after attending the 52nd Anniversary of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 10.

Previously, the Chairman of the National Mandate Party Zulkifli Hasan had mentioned that Jokowi had banned his son Kaesang Pangarep from running in the Jakarta Pilkada.

Meanwhile, Jokowi's son, Kaesang, who is the General Chair of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), said that his assignment to run in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election will be decided in August.

"I have told you, wait for the surprise later in August," said Kaesang some time ago.

Kaesang said there would be a surprise about him running or not in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

The youngest son of President Jokowi also asked all parties to be patient because the registration of the prospective pair for governor and deputy governor through the path of political parties will start on August 27 to 29, 2024.
