Hasto Kristiyanto's Attorney Suspects That Harun Masiku's Case Waspoliticized

JAKARTA - PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto's attorney, Ronny Talapessy, suspects that there has been politicization related to the handling of the Harun Masiku case by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This allegation arose because this issue was often busy ahead of political momentum.

"In March and April, this issue began to rise very high, it was raised," said Ronny to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, June 10.

"This is a question for us, because of what? Now entering the political year too, will enter the regional elections," he continued.

This reason made Hasto fulfill the summons of the anti-corruption commission investigator. He said, the secretary general of the party bearing the bull symbol did not want this case to continue to emerge and become a political commodity.

"We suspect that when it enters the political year, this issue will continue to be raised, so here we are here to support the KPK. So if investigators want to say what they want to ask, we will convey it," he said.

Meanwhile, Hasto Kristiyanto is currently still undergoing examination as a witness regarding the Harun Masiku case, which is still at large. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the examination began at 10.00 WIB.

"The witness was present at 09.42 WIB and carried out an examination starting at 10.00 WIB," Budi said in a written statement.

As previously reported, Hasto Kristiyanto, who is the Secretary General of PDIP, was questioned by the KPK for questioning regarding Harun Masiku. He became the fourth witness to be summoned after pocketing new information.

Meanwhile, Harun Masiku is a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan. This gift was given so that he could sit as a member of the DPR through interim shifts (PAW).
