Tightening RI-Malaysia Borders In West Kalimantan, TNI Checks Crossing Goods

JAKARTA - The TNI has tightened the RI-Malaysia border area in Kapuas Hulu Regency, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan). The border crossers of the Nanga Badau National Border Post (PLBN) were investigated by a joint TNI team.

"The examination of cross-sectional goods is an effort to prevent illegal activities, especially those related to drugs, firearms and liquor," said Infantry Badau Military Commander Fadliyanoor in Badau Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, Sunday, June 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

Fadliyanoor said efforts to tighten supervision of border areas were carried out because border areas were prone to smuggling illegal goods.

He mentioned what needs to be anticipated, namely the circulation of liquor, aka illegal alcohol, the circulation of firearms and also the circulation of drugs.

In addition to examining the luggage of the passerby, the joint team also gave an appeal and education so that the public would not be involved in the circulation or smuggling of illegal goods.

"We hope that the routine inspection can narrow the space for illegal activities at the border," said Fadliyanoor.

To the public, Fadliyanoor also advised not to be influenced by the lure of certain parties that can plunge people into illegal activities.

"We invite the public to jointly increase awareness of illegal activities and if they know they can report immediately to the nearest officer," he said.

Fadliyanoor said inspections on the streets would be carried out regularly, which is also a leadership order in creating a safe and controlled border.
