Entering 'Hall Of Legends', Esports Athlete Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok Gets A Special Mercedes-Benz And The Only One In The World
JAKARTA - South Korean esports athlete often called the "Dewa" League of Legends, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok gets a special Mercedes-Benz and the only one for him.
The customized Mercedes-Benz AMG SL 63 was handed over by CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea Mathias Vaitl on Thursday, on the sidelines of the 'Hall of Legends 2024 Media Day' at the hotel The Shalila Seoul, South Korea.
The prize was awarded to celebrate Lee's success as the first person to enter the Hall of Legends, which was founded earlier this year by Riot Games, publisher of League of Legends, after being announced last month.
Vehicles for Lee, who has played for the T1 esports team since 2013, were created by MANUFAKTUR, a customization program that offers exclusive paint, interior and personalization options. Lee's new roadster features Faker writing on the head back and the words Hall of Legends on the floor mat.
"Our long-standing and extraordinary partnership with Riot Games allowed us to create extraordinary moments for the esports community," said Bettina Fetzer, vice president of communications & marketing at Mercedes-Benz AG.
"Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Roadster, which is personalized by hand in honor of Faker, realizes the best performance and uniqueness. Both attributes are very suitable for Faker's style of play," he continued.
Not only that, the automotive manufacturer also gave him a gift in the form of a special artwork created in collaboration with a well-known design studio. The artwork shows Masker in his hometown, Seoul, alongside the vehicle with an art style "identical to the typical art style League of Legends," according to the German car giant.

"The car that was customized and made by hand was the perfect tribute to Faker for his inauguration at the Hall of Legends. This underscores the Mercedes-Benz award for the entire League of Legends community," he added.
It is known, Mercedes-Benz, who partnered with Riot Games, has sponsored the League of Legends and Mid-Season Invitational World Championships of the game. The Hall of Legends has become another Riot Games category sponsored by the luxury car brand.
