High Rain Intensity, Aftershocks Potentially Hit South Sumatra's Lubuk Linggau Next Week

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) appealed to local governments and residents in Lubuk Linggau City, South Sumatra (Sumsel) to increase awareness of the potential for further flooding in the next week.

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said that at least in the next week most of the weather in the Lubuk Linggau area was dominated by rain accompanied by lightning.

The BNPB Pusdalops confirmed that based on an early warning from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the rain accompanied by lightning will start from noon around 13.00 WIB until early morning.

Due to these conditions, BNPB recommends to the Lubuk Linggau City Government and the public to be vigilant because the long and sustainable rain will have the potential to cause flooding again.
