Chery And Huawei Share Official Images Of Luxeed S9, Tesla Model Y Competitors In China

JAKARTA - A joint project between Huawei and Chery gave birth to the Luxeed brand that will launch the S9 model, as a competitor to Tesla Model Y in China.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Saturday, June 8, Luxeed S9 is positioned as the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Couple which will enter the Chinese market this year, and is sold in the range of 300,000-400,000 yuan or the cheapest is at IDR 673 million.

As is known, in this project Huawei acts as a supplier of spare parts and software, while Chery provides modular architecture and handles its production.

Back to Luxeed S9, previously several times this one model was caught on camera testing the road in China. Now, the company has released its official photo even though it is still covered in camouflage.

At first glance, the design offered adheres to the design of Luxeed S7 and Aito M9. You can see that the front facility comes with a thin LED all-light combined with a thin strip. Overall, the hood line is tilted.

In more detail, the S9 uses the Pirelli Scorpion tires, and is equipped with a prominent roof which is a Huawei-made LiDAR sensor.

At the back, this car adopts a single LED light, a modern bumper makes it look sporty, and is equipped with a large sunset that makes the cabin feel more spacious.

Entering the cabin, the Luxeed S9 interior is similar to the other model, namely the S7 where it comes with a wheel steering wheel in the shape of an oval, a floating touch screen, and two storage compartments for a cup.

This one car stands on an E0X modular architecture designed by Chery. Most likely, S9 will adopt a powertrain sedan S7. That is, it has a Rein Wheel Drive (RWD) variant that has an e-motor of 489 hp, and has three Lathium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) optional batteries of 62 kWh, M3P NMC plus LFP of 82 kWh, and Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) for 100 kWh.
