Polda Metro Investigate Case Of Hasto Kristiyanto Allegedly Violating ITE

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya is investigating a case of alleged spreading false news and incitement of the Secretary-General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto regarding his interview on a television station.

"We will explore it first," said Director of Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Wira Satya Triputra to reporters Thursday, June 6.

Wira did not explain in detail the chronology of the report. He only said Hasto was reported in connection with the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) and incitement.

"There is also an ITE problem, then a sedition problem," he said.

When asked about the number of witnesses examined, Wira was reluctant to reveal further. Including the possibility of returning to summon Hasto in the case. "Later we will inform further," he said.

Based on information received by journalists, Hasto was summoned for alleged criminal acts of sedition and spreading false information as referred to in Article 160 of the Criminal Code and or Article 28 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 45a paragraph (3) of Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions.

In an interview with the private TV station, Hasto allegedly revealed the alleged fraud in the 2024 General Election.
