The Story Of Yovie Widianto And The Legendary Studio Of The Creation Of A Series Of Hits Songs In The Country
JAKARTA - It's like urban legends, a place or room is often said to have a certain energy to trigger creativity. Despite the mature technical factors, Abbey Road is so echoed for giving birth to hundreds of hits from world musicians.
Not only did this happen in England, but the house and studio belonging to musician Yovie Widianto, known as Studio GS03 in Jakarta, is also believed to have'magic' strength. Many hits and quality songs were created with great musicians there.
The studio, located in Utan Kayu, East Jakarta, used to be a storage area for Kahitna and Yovie & Nuno performing equipment. The place was also once the headquarters to rest after a gig.
"The house is to put the same inventory tool," said Bedi Gunawan, as the manager of KAHITNA in a written statement. However, due to the flood tragedy that damaged most of the items stored there, the house was converted into a studio.
"At that time, his house had not been installed, so there were a lot of cassettes of KahITNA, Yovie & Nuno, and damaged equipment. The archives that had been neatly stored were destroyed because they were submerged in flood water," said Bedi Gunawan.
Yovie Widianto came up with the idea of creating his own recording studio. Because before the studio was built, Yovie and his friends often rented a recording studio in Jakarta or in Bandung if they wanted to record a new song.
"Studio GS03 has its own history and hockey," said Yovie Widianto.
Not only the record, GS03 studio is also the headquarters of musicians to just hang out or seek inspiration. Some of them didn't even mean to record the initials but ended up bringing home songs from the GS03 studio.
This'magic' strength also happened to Yura Yunita during the production of the song 'Had to be Happy'. For more than two hours in the studio with Yovie Widianto, the two were just busy venting and snacking, there was no sign that a song would be created.
"Anyway, I've talked a lot to Mas Yovie but in my heart, when to make the song, 2 hours just talk to the snack. Then I gave permission to go to the toilet, for a while, well, at least 3-5 minutes. When I entered the studio again, Mas Yovie said the song was finished, "said Yura while imitating her shock expression at that time.

Of course not only 'Had to be happy', many other hits were also born in GS03 studios. Some of them are Tiara Andini with 'Feel Beautiful', and most recently there is Lyodra with a single 'Don't Always Have', and Not a Rindu from Andmesh Kamaleng.
Yovie conveyed this single as one of his grand projects, but sat-set and efficient. Don't Always Have itself was created specifically for the film pard is Death.
"This song was specifically made for Lyodra with conceptual arrangements combined with the Dramatic of 'Ipar is Death' which makes songs and films complement each other," said Yovie.
His collaboration with Lyodra in the song also took place in the studio'reliance'. If in the 90s musicians gathered at Potlot, musicians of today's generation could hang out in this Yovie Widianto studio.
