As Many As 90.4 Percent Of People Are Satisfied With The Implementation Of The 2024 Eid Homecoming

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said the majority of the people were satisfied with the implementation of the 2024 Eid homecoming.

This achievement is the result of joint work of all parties involved.

Budi said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was also satisfied with the 2024 homecoming transportation service. Jokowi, continued Budi, appreciated the implementation of this year's homecoming.

"Mr. President appreciates what we are doing this time. And, indeed from the results of the survey conducted indicators for two years, 2023 and 2024, 90.4 percent of the previous 90.5 percent of the previous 89.5 percent of the survey," he said at a working meeting with Commission V DPR, at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 5.

In the implementation of free homecoming held by the Ministry of Transportation, continued Budi, there was an increase compared to the previous year.

In detail, for land transportation modes in 2024, 40,088 passengers were recorded compared to 2023, which recorded 24,695 passengers.

As for sea transportation, continued Budi, there were 46,212 passengers who rose compared to 2023, which recorded 6,423 passengers.

Meanwhile, the train recorded 47,154 passengers increased compared to 2023, which was 42,234 passengers.

"Our free homecoming has basically increased 81 percent and 44 percent for the following motorbikes," he said.

Budi said, a total of 133,454 passengers took advantage of the free homecoming program from the Ministry of Transportation in Lebaran 2024.

It was also noted that 17,220 motorbikes received free homecoming facilities.

Referring to this figure, Budi said that the free homecoming quota is lacking and must be evaluated for next year's homecoming.

Budi admitted that the free homecoming program was proven to reduce the number of travelers using motorbikes.

"But this number is felt to be lacking and must be evaluated. Free homecoming is proven to reduce the number of use of two wheels," he said.
