Judge Rejects Pretrial Sidoarjo Regent Inactive Gus Muhdlor
JAKARTA - South Jakarta District Court sole judge Radityo Baskoro rejected the pretrial filed by the inactive Regent of Sidoarjo, East Java, Ahmad Muhdlor or who is familiarly called Gus Muhdlor regarding the alleged corruption case.
"The trial in the exception rejects the exception submitted by the applicant in the subject case," said Radityo Baskoro in the South Jakarta District Court (PN) courtroom, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 5.
In addition to rejecting the pretrial application submitted by the applicant, the judge also charged the applicant with nil. "Thus it was decided on June 5, 2024," he said.
According to the judge, the action of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as the respondent who named Gus Muhdlor as a suspect was legal according to law.
In addition, the judge assessed that the confiscation carried out by the anti-corruption agency was a legal act according to law.
Member of the KPK Legal Bureau Team Muhammad Hafez said this trial was in accordance with the expectations of the KPK so that it could lead to the subject matter of the case.
"Yes, as expected, the judge considered almost everything, starting from the determination of the suspect, preliminary evidence, detention, to the complete confiscation," said Hafez.
Hafez also said the investigation would continue so that his party was still looking for additional evidence to strengthen prosecution at the next trial.

The trial for alleged corruption within the Regional Tax Service Agency (BPPD) was stated in case number 56/Pid.Pra/2024/PN JKT.SEL.
In addition, the KPK Legal Team stated that Ahmad Muhdlor's pretrial application could not be accepted because the investigation carried out was legal according to law.
"Receive and grant the respondent's answer/response in its entirety. Reject the pretrial application submitted by the applicant as registered in case register Number 56/Pid.Pra/2024/PN Jkt.Sel. or at least state that the pretrial application is unacceptable (niet ontvankelijk verklaard)," said the KPK legal team in the trial.
