The presiding judge of Sulhanuddin at the Medan District Court, said the panel of judges believed that the defendant was found guilty of violating Article 114 paragraph (2) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

The defendants without rights or against the law offered to sell, sell, buy, become intermediaries in buying and selling, exchange, hand over or receive class one narcotics in the form of plants weighing more than one kilogram.

The panel of judges considered that the aggravating things committed by the defendants did not support the government's program in eradicating drugs, while the mitigating factors for the three defendants were not found.

After the panel of judges read out the verdict, his party gave the defendants, legal advisers and public prosecutors a period of thinking or appeal against the decision.

The verdict of the panel of judges is lighter than the demands of Public Prosecutor Agile Rosmini with the death penalty. The indictment revealed that the defendants departed from Aceh to Medan on October 23, 2023 at around 19.00 WIB.

The three defendants headed to the house of a potential buyer by driving a car to Jalan Kenanga Raya, Tanjung Village, Sari, Medan Selayang District, Medan City.

In short, officers from the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate disguised themselves as buyers, so the three perpetrators were arrested by the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate personnel team.
