North Sumatra Police Confiscate Smuggled Goods From Thailand, From Harley-Davidson To Dozens Of Chickens
The North Sumatra Regional Police confiscated evidence from the results of a criminal act of smuggling from Thailand estimated at IDR 20 billion.
"The suspects arrested have the initials WRD, PND, PTP, SHDN and AS," said North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi in Medan, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 4.
The arrests began with Intel Kodam I Bukit Barisan along with personnel from the North Sumatra Police Ditreskrimsus securing two trucks loaded with goods from abroad on Jalan Besilam, Tanjung Pura District, Langkat Regency on Monday (20/5).
Officers confiscated a truck driven by WRD and PND as a kernet, including one unit of Harley-Davidson motorcycle, one unit of BMW motorcycle, 63 conjoined chickens, three Vespa units and others.

In addition, the truck driven by PTP and SHDN was confiscated by one unit of Honda trail, two units of Harley Davidson 31 parts (spareparts) from Thailand, five chicken medicine cities, two pittbull dogs and others.
"The results of the officer's development were found in a US warehouse around Deli Serdang Regency where four motorbikes and 10 motorcycle spare parts were found," said Agung.
From the results of the interrogation of the suspects, they carried out 15 smuggling items.
"Against SB and HB still in the process of being searched by personnel, we continue to develop this case," said Agung.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 112 paragraph 2 or Article 106 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade in conjunction with Article 55 and or Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
In addition, Article 86 letter a in conjunction with Article 33 letter a and or Article 88 letter a in conjunction with Article 35 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 21 of 2019 concerning the quarantine of animals and plants.
