Calls Mining Governance By Religious Organizations No Need For Skills, Bahlil Criticized
JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR RI Mulyanto strongly criticized the statement by the Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahaladia who said that mining management by religious organizations does not need specialization, but it is enough to leave it to contractors such as existing mining companies.
Thus, Bahlil ensured that the provision of IUP for religious organizations would not cause conflicts of interest.
According to Mulyanto, the logic stated by Bahlil is inconsequential and has the potential to hit existing regulations. This statement is a form of severe confusion in state management.
"If something goes wrong at the level of mining implementation, it should be repaired by the government. It should not be justification to be replicated and reproduced. If this is done the damage will be more widespread," Mulyanto said in his statement to the media, Tuesday, June 4.
Mulyanto said that the rules of good governance have regulated the duties and functions of each sector in managing the country, both the public-government sector, the economic sector, and the social sector.
If the function of these three state sectors overlaps, it will become more chaotic in state management.
"Just imagine if the TNI or Police institutionally participate in fussy activities in the mining world. Or certain Ministries join the mining business. If this happens, it is estimated that mining matters will become more and more fragile," Mulyanto explained.
Mulyanto also highlighted the enforcement of illegal mining surveillance, which the government has not been able to carry out until now.
"Masak mau menggambah masalah baru dengan mengizinkan ormas secara kelembagaan mengelola tambang," lanjut Mulyanto.
Mulyanto estimates that the program to distribute IUP to mass organizations will also have an unfavorable impact on the mass organization itself.
This business license grant will at least affect the objectivity of the implementation of vision and mission, solidity and organizational governance.
"It can damage religious organizations in guarding our conscience," said the Deputy Chairman of the FPKS DPR RI.
For information, the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BPKM), Bahlil Lahadalia, revealed that his party will soon sign a Mining Business License (IUP) for the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU).

According to Bahlil, with the IUP, PBNU can manage mining concessions to optimize organizational needs.
This was conveyed by Bahlil during the opening of the VIII Pre-Dresholding of the Nahdlatul Ulama Higher Education Student Executive Board (BEM PTNU) throughout the archipelago at the As Syafi iyah Islamic University, Bekasi, West Java, Friday, May 31, 2024.
He rejected allegations that religious organizations do not specialize in managing mines.
According to him, companies that have IUPs also do not manage their own mines, but use mining contractors.
