Jokowi Wants To See Preparations For The August 17 Ceremony At IKN
BALIKPAPAN - President Joko Widodo said he wanted to see preparations for the ceremony for the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 1945 in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, on the sidelines of his working visit to the province.
This was conveyed by President Jokowi through a blogging video (vlog) uploaded via Instagram @jokowi social media, as monitored in East Kalimantan, Monday, June 3.
"I am sliding to Balikpapan to go to IKN Nusantara. We will see the development development program. The second will also lay a ground breaking stone for several educational institutions and also see preparations for the upcoming August 17 ceremony," Jokowi said in his short vlog on the Presidential Plane, as he was about to go to IKN.
Before heading to IKN, the President first carried out activities in Balikpapan.
The Head of State arrived at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, Balikpapan City at around 17.45 WITA, and was greeted by Acting Governor of East Kalimantan Akmal Malik, Pangdam VI/Mulawarman Major General TNI Tri Budi Utomo, East Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Nanang Avianto, Pangkoarmada II Laksda Ariyanto, and Danlanud Dhomber Colonel Pnb. David Ali Hamzah.

In East Kalimantan Province, President Jokowi will carry out a number of work agendas tomorrow until Wednesday (5/6), including attending the inauguration of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Association of Indonesian City Governments (Apeksi) XVII in 2024 to inaugurate a number of infrastructure developments at IKN.
The President during his working visit will also inaugurate the workspace of the Antara News Agency located at IKN.
