Jordi Amat Dipastikan Perkuat Timnas Indonesia Saat Menghadapi Tanzania

JAKARTA - Jordi Amat is prepared as one of the senior Indonesian national team players. Coach Shin Tae-yong has confirmed that the defender will appear in a test match against the Tanzanian national team at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta, Sunday, June 2.

Although he only joined the Garuda squad on Friday, May 31, Jordi Amat will be ready to go to the field. However, STY said that Justin Hubner, who will join today, is still waiting for a decision from the results of the joint discussion tonight to likely be immediately taken down against Tanzania.

"For Jordi (Amat), arriving in Indonesia last night (Friday night), and for Justin (Hubner) to arrive in Indonesia today. For tomorrow's match, it is very likely that Jordi will play and for Justin after arriving in Indonesia he will hold a meeting together. After that, it will be decided whether he plays or not," said Shin Tae-yong at a press conference before the match in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday.

Meanwhile, Calvin Verdink, who has not finished the process of becoming an Indonesian citizen (WNI), has certainly not been able to make his debut when the Garuda squad faced Tanzania. Verdok has indeed joined the training camp since Friday (31/5) but STY confirmed that the player from the Dutch League club, NEC Nijmegen, has not been able to appear because he does not have an Indonesian passport.

"Calvin (Verdonk) cannot play (against Tanzania) because he has not received a passport (Indonesia)," said Shin Tae-yong.

The former South Korean national team coach considers that tomorrow's trial match will be an event to improve and restore the physical condition of the players after undergoing the holiday process before looking at the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

"For tomorrow's match, of course, it is more important to improve performance and as a physical trial of the players in order to play against Iraq in the full 90 minutes. Instead of seeing what tomorrow's results will be like," said STY.
