Kim Sung Kyu Joins Pachinko 2, Premieres August 23

JAKARTA - The Pachinko series is confirmed to continue into the second season. Apple TV+ released its premiere along with the release date of the hit series today, Friday, May 31.

The title sequence video that lasted almost two minutes features the previous cast, namely Lee Min Ho, Kim Min Ha, Anna Sawai, Youn Yuh Jung, Jin Ha, Jung Eunchae, Arai Soji, Han Jun Woo. They danced among Pachinko, namely the archkade game.

Actor Kim Sungkyu joined as a new player in the second season, but it is not yet known what role the actor played.

Some of the premieres showed moments like Kyunghee, played by Jung Eunchae, crying. Other photos also show young Kyunghee and Sunja (Kim Minha) who were surprised to see something.

The old Sunja (Youn Yuh Jung) figure is seen interacting with someone, as well as Kyunghee and Sunja who work in the fields. The last photo shows Sunja meeting Hansu (Lee Min Ho) again.

Pachinko, which is told in three languages, tells the story of the struggle of an immigrant in supporting himself and future generations.

Adapted from the hit novel by Min Ji Lee, Pachinko received 11 awards in the first season such as theatured Award, Critics Choice, and Gotham Independent. The series is directed by Leanne Welham, Arvin Chen, and Lee Sang Il.

Pachinko 2 has 8 episodes released in one episode every Friday starting August 23.
