Newest VW Tiguan Gets Highest Value In NCAP Euro Collision Test
JAKARTA - Volkswagen Tiguan has been officially produced in mid-2023. The car is presented to continue the positive trend of selling brand SUVs from Germany.
Launched for the first time in 2007, VW Tiguan is the best-selling product owned by a German manufacturer selling more than 7.6 million units.
Different from the previous generation, this SUV has undergone a number of changes ranging from design, technology, and performance. Furthermore, this third generation model also shows its ability in terms of safety from the Euro New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP).
Launching from the Euro NCAP page, Thursday, May 30, this car managed to obtain five stars in the strict testing carried out by the agency. This agency has set a number of criteria for testing, including the ability to detect children.
In the Child Occupant test, Euro NCAP scored 88 percent with the impact test performance on children aged between 6 and 10 getting a score of 24 points and the highest, including a 16-point hit-on valuation and a 8-point side-on collision.

In addition, the Adult Occupant's assessment got a score of 83 percent with a hit-on-front test of 10.7 from 16 points, a side-on-side collision of 15.1 from 16 points, and a back-on collision of 3.6 from 4 points.
For the valuation of Vulnerable Road Users, the latest Tiguan managed to get a score of 84 percent. The assessment consisted of VRU Impact Protection 30.1 of 36 points, VRU Impact Mitigation 23.3 of 27 points, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) Cyclist with 7.8 of 8 points, and Lane Support Motorcyclist 2.5 of 3 points.
Meanwhile, Safety Assist's assessment earned 78 percent with Speed Assistance 1.7 from 3 points, Occupant Monitoring Status 1.3 from 3 pounds, and Lane Support with 3 out of 3 points.
This latest VW Tuguan has a number of standard safety technologies, such as Hill Start Assist, Exit Warning System, Rear Traffic Alert, Front Cross Traffic Assist, Lane Change System, Autonomous Emergency Braking Front Assist with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring, and Park Distance Control.
