BMKG: West Java Has Transferred To The Dry Season
GARUT - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that most parts of West Java (West Java) have started to transition from the rainy season to the dry season, so it must be a concern for the public to take steps to anticipate preparations for the dry season.
"Currently, in the transition, the intensity of rainfall has gradually decreased to the dry season," said Head of the Class 1 Geophysics Station of Bandung BMKG Teguh Rahayu during the Earthquake and Tsunami Lapang School event reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 29.
He said that the weather conditions in Indonesia only have two seasons, namely the dry season and rain, which are currently starting from the rainy season to enter the transition period to the dry season.
The dry condition, said Rahayu, had started entering in June, then in July and August it was the peak of the dry season, then entered September and has begun to enter the transition period to the rainy season.
"So it is possible that in the end of June most of West Java Provinces have entered the dry season, and the peak is in the dry season in July and August," he said.
Rahayu revealed that during the current transition period, there are actually some areas in West Java, such as the northern region, namely Subang and Indramayu Regencies, which have been hit by drought because it has not rained since April.
"It's just that the northern region has dried up, it's already dry from April, Subang, Indramayu is already dry," he said.

Rahayu said that this year's dry season is not expected to last long, or in normal conditions, namely from the peak of July and August, then September has started the rainy season.
"Yesterday, the release was to be aware of the potential for drought because it was said that now it is a normal condition, this year the dry season is normal," he said.
Rahayu said that in facing the dry season this year, people from now on save water by using sufficient water, as well as accommodating water for their needs during the dry season.
In addition, he continued, local governments must also prepare themselves to supply clean water needs as well as overcome agricultural areas affected by drought due to drought.
"Saving enough water, and BPBD has mapped which areas need clean water supply," he said.
