Elpiji Gas Cylinder Leaks, Padang Restaurant In Rawamangun Hangus Burns

JAKARTA The Padang restaurant on Jalan Rawamangun Muka Timur, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, caught fire due to an explosion of a 3-kilogram gas cylinder (Kg), Wednesday, May 29, afternoon.

The fire was reported to the fire department at around 11.50 WIB. A total of 7 cars with 35 personnel were dispatched to the location of the fire.

"The object caught fire by a 3x4 meter sugary restaurant belonging to Juprizal," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed, Wednesday, May 29.

The cause of the fire was a leak of the kitchen area's stove gas.

"Because of the gas cylinder leak. The owner suffered a loss of Rp. 15 million," he said.

The incident began when the owner changed the gas cylinder. Suddenly an error occurred and emitted a fire.

"During the change of the tube, the gas immediately came out and then suddenly there was an ignition. The victim was nil," he said.

The fire was extinguished at 12.13 WIB. Currently, the fire status has been extinguished.
