KPU Remains The Person In Charge Of Sirekap In The 2024 Pilkada
JAKARTA - A member of the General Election Commission (KPU) Betty Epsiloon Idroos stated that his party would remain in charge of the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap) in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
"Oh, sure enough. If the person in charge is final (Sirekap) for elections and regional elections, it's still the Indonesian KPU," Betty said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 29.
Betty explained that the KPU also issued a policy of using Sirekap. However, the KPU will convey to Commission II of the DPR regarding the form of Sirekap which will be used in the regional elections.
"KPU regulations, what kind of policies, we usually present first. They can give input as usual, there are no problems," he explained.
This is also in accordance with the request of the Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Ahmad Doli so that the KPU does not rush to mention that it will return to using Sirekap in the 2024 Pilkada. Sirekap will also be scheduled in a special session when discussing KPU regulations (PKPU) for the 2024 Pilkada.
"If Sirekap will do it later, that's another PKPU. I haven't clear it yet Sirekap, so don't say I want to use it now," said Doli at the DPR RI, Jakarta, Thursday (16/5).
Previously, KPU member Idham Holik said that the use of Sirekap in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada was aimed at public openness.
"We will use Sirekap, of course what is the legal consideration of the Constitutional Court in the decision that was read out yesterday, it is our reference in the evaluation and improvement of Sirekap which will be used in the elections, November 27, 2024," said Idham.
According to him, openness is one of the principles of holding elections or regional elections. Therefore, the KPU must design this principle so that it can be realized.
"Yesterday, Sirekap was designed to publish a photo of the C Result model form. So, we have an obligation to publish the results of vote acquisition starting from the TPS level," he explained.
