Support Investment, PLN Provides Reliable Electricity In Jakarta
JAKARTA - PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting economic growth in Jakarta by accelerating electricity connection for investors.
Launching data from the Central Statistics Agency of DKI Jakarta Province, the Jakarta economy in the first quarter of 2024 against the first quarter of 2023 grew by 4.78 percent (YoY).
One of the main drivers of economic growth is reliable and fast electricity availability for investors.
Throughout 2024, PLN UID Jakarta Raya has connected electricity to 51,840 customers with a total connected power of 300 million Volt Ampere (VA).
"This month alone (May 2024), PLN UID Jakarta Raya has succeeded in making new connections and changes in power for 11,373 customers, with the addition of power reaching 55 million VA," said General Manager of PLN Main Unit Distribution Jakarta Raya, Lasiran.
This connection includes strategic sectors such as property businesses, data centers, and hospitals.

In addition, PLN UID Jakarta Raya also supports the use of renewable energy through green electricity services in the form of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) for investors.
To date, in Jakarta there are 35,960 customers who already have REC with a total connected power of 168 MVA.
"We are committed to supporting Jakarta's economic growth by providing reliable and fast electricity services for investors. The acceleration of electricity connection and our support for renewable energy through the REC demonstrate our commitment to supporting sustainable and environmentally friendly development," said Lasiran.
REC is a form of PLN's service to make it easier for customers to gain recognition of the transparent, accountable, and internationally recognized use of New Energy (EBT). Each REC certificate proves that electricity per megawatt-hour (MWh) used by customers comes from EBT or non-fosil generators.
"The use of the REC helps customers achieve sustainability goals, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing their reputation, and meeting environmental standards," added Lasiran General Manager of PLN Jakarta Raya Distribution Main Unit.
