Minister Basuki Ensures MLFF System Doesn't Increase Toll Rates
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono ensured that the implementation of the contactless non-cash toll pay system or Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF) would not have an impact on the increase in toll rates borne by the community.
Basuki said that the implementation of the toll road system without stopping will not burden the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT). So, it will not have an impact on the increase in tariffs.
"So if MLFF, Single Lane Free Flow (SLFF) does not burden BUJT, there is no burden on users. Still, this is a system change from cash to tapping, now it is SLFF," said Basuki when met at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Tuesday, May 28.
He said that the application of tariff adjustments would be enforced in accordance with the stipulated provisions, namely once every two years.
The consideration of the tariff increase is also not because it is based on the implementation of the MLFF system, but considering inflation so that BUJT yields can be maintained.
"The count of tariffs itself has been around since the tender, right. So, it has nothing to do with it. It has nothing to do with this tariff issue," he added.
Previously reported, PT Roatex Indonesia Toll System (RITS) will be ready to implement a contactless non-cash toll transaction system or multi lane free flow (MLFF) this year.
The plan is that the implementation of the toll road payment system without touching will begin to be implemented in stages in October 2024 on the Bali Mandara Toll Road.

'RITS as the implementing enterprise (BUP) of the MLFF program is ready to implement the system according to the schedule targeted by the government, starting in the fourth quarter of this year', said PT RITS Attila Keszeg's President Director in the Media Briefing & Talk Show "Driving Towards A Brighter Future: The Evolution of Indonesian Transportation For Accelerated Accessibility at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Tuesday, May 28.
During this transition period, the system used is a single lane free flow (SLFF) while still using a barrier. So, toll road users need to download the Cantas application, then the application is connected to a banking account belonging to toll users.
Every time you pass the toll payment transaction point, the account balance will automatically decrease according to the nominal that must be paid when passing the toll road.
