Indonesia Agrees To Cooperate With China For Digital And AI Transformation

JAKARTA - During the working visit of the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi to Geneva, Switzerland, the Indonesian government agreed to explore digital and AI transformation cooperation with China.

In a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology RRC Shan Zhongde, the Minister of Communication and Information said that Indonesia believes that the development of AI (Artificial Intelligent) and investment in human resources will bring progress.

Budi also revealed that Indonesia currently has rules for the code of ethics for the use of AI. Thus, Budi hopes that China can support the development of digitalization in remote areas of Indonesia.

"Hopefully this meeting will bring better cooperation for mutual success," Minister Budi Arie quoted his official broadcast as saying on Tuesday, May 28.

Deputy Minister Zhongde also stated that China wants to support Indonesia in digital transformation, especially in the telecommunications sector, namely the development of 5G and 6G technology and AI.

He hopes that Indonesia will send delegations to international forums on the digital industry and AI which will be held in early September this year in his country.

"We expect cooperation regarding the use of AI for the progress of the people of each country," he said.
