JAKARTA - Mark Zuckerberg believes that the future trend of smart glasses based on Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) will be much loved. This device is predicted to become a new trend in the future.

The Facebook boss also revealed that smart glasses devices will replace the smartphone trend because they can be relied on for communication in the next 2030.

He also added that the VR and AR technology that is present in smart glasses will allow users to quickly go to places, such as relatives' homes and offices without having to physically visit them. Users will also be able to chat with people who are in that place.

"Later, you don't need to call someone or make a video call to communicate, you can just use your finger to initiate 'teleportation'. After that, you will be sitting with them like in the real world", said Zuckerberg.

In addition, the Facebook CEO also predicted that users of smart glasses will get other benefits such as faster travel time to travel to certain places will be shorter.

Thus, users don't have to go somewhere to meet someone. Zuckerberg claims that the time used will be more efficient. Due to reduced traveling activity, it is predicted that vehicles will also decrease so as to reduce air pollution.

"We don't think too much about the travel process because it becomes one of the obstacles for us. I think it is also the best solution for many people and this planet of course", said the Facebook boss.

Before Facebook made smart glasses, Google first made Google Glass, which was announced in 2012. In addition, Microsoft also has a line of smart glasses company called HoloLens based on Mixed Reality. which combines Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technology.
