Kia Plans EV2 Electric Crossover To Launch In 2026

JAKARTA - The Kia car manufacturer has confirmed that the smallest and most affordable electric cars will be launched in 2026. The car is certain to be more affordable than Kia EV3, which recently launched.

Quoting from the PH's Top Gear page, Monday, May 27, the car in question is Kia EV2. This assurance was revealed by the Head of Marketing for Kia Eropa David Hilbert.

"This is a car for Europe and will be made in Europe at the Kia factory in Slovakia, it has been confirmed," he said.

He further said the small car segment was very important for the European market because of the tight cities and other challenges. Therefore, EV2 will be an important car.

"Therefore, EV2 will be an important car for us in the future, and I think this will be an entry point for our special EV product lineup," he added.

Furthermore, he said that he still could not determine the price of the car (Kia EV2), and it is currently being discussed about its launch. This means that there is no news regarding the estimated price.

"We still can't determine the price, because this is the year 2026 that we are discussing for the launch," he added.

David Hilbert also emphasized that until now he has not received confirmation of the final design, and all of them are still in the development stage because it is clear that it is still two years away.

"We haven't received confirmation of the final design. It's still under development because obviously it's still two years away so there are various things to be studied. But for sure, it will be under EV3," he concluded.
